Connor McGregor challenges Manny Pacquiao, says offer made

Connor McGregor challenges Manny Pacquiao in the boxing ring after suffering a loss with Floyd Mayweather Jr in 2017.

“I would be open to other boxing bouts. You know, Manny… We’re actually close to signing Manny,” McGregor said in an interview on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show.

The former Ultimate Fighting Championship featherweight and lightweight champion, even an offer, was made for highly anticipated Connor McGregor versus Manny Pacquiao fight.

“Me and Manny. There’s been talks about the Manny fight,” he said. “There was an offer made on that, yeah. Just not yet, not yet.”

The Irish mixed martial artist fought Mayweather but lost via technical knockout in the 10th round of what is called “The Money Fight” in 2017.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor, also known as “The Money Fight” and “The Biggest Fight in Combat Sports History,” was a professional boxing match between undefeated eleven-time five-division boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. and two-division mixed martial arts (MMA) world champion and, at the time, UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor.

McGregor seeks rematch against now-retired Mayweather. The two fighters were previously reported to be exchanging blows on the octagon, but none so far has materialized.

“I’d like to rematch Floyd. I mean, he’s flirting with it, and they want all this. And he can go and pick someone else, it’s not gonna be the same. It’s not. I’ve done phenomenal in that bout,” McGregor said.
