Philippines Airlines has announced the opening of four new domestic routes out of Clark Airport.

The new destinations – Siargao, San Vicente (Palawan), Cauayan (Isabela) and San Jose (Mindoro) – will cement the airport’s status as a hub for travellers.

Today (Sunday, July 1) the airline launches its daily service to Siargao, in Surigao del Norte, using its Bombardier Next-Generation Q400 turboprop aircraft.

PAL also flies to Siargao from Davao and Cebu. This resort island is currently growing in popularity, particularly since the introduction of the Cebu-Siargao route last November and the Davao link in March this year.

Next October, PAL will also open regular flights from Clark to the newly opened airport at San Vicente in Northern Palawan, along with the new links to Isabela and Mindoro.

PAL will fly twice a day to San Vicente, eight times a week to San Jose and six times weekly to Cauayan.

The new 86-seater Q400s — fitted with half a dozen Economy Plus seats and 80 Economy Class seats — will be used for all the new routes.

These new services cement PAL’s status as the biggest airline operator out of Clark Airport with a total of 19 destinations.

The others include Bacolod, Basco, Busuanga, Cagayan de Oro, Calbayog, Catarman, Caticlan, Cebu, Davao, Masbate, Naga, Puerto Princesa, Siargao, Tagbilaran and Virac. It also operates an international service to Seoul in South Korea.

Two new Q400NGs arrived in May and June, enabling PAL to step up the pace of its domestic expansion. Five more Q400NGs will be delivered next year increasing the fleet to 12.

PAL’s expansion of operations at Clark, as well as in Cebu and Davao, will not only enhance travel convenience and connectivity but also help to decongest Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
