Christine Dacera’s mother said her daughter is “very healthy” and had no history of aneurysm, which was listed as the flight attendant’s cause of death.
Sharon told Super Radyo dzBB that her daughter would not have been allowed to work as a flight attendant at Philippine Airlines if she had health problems.
“Si PAL (Philippine Airlines), the company itself, hindi ka ipapa-duty kung may diperensya ka… E on duty ‘yung anak ko tapos COVID pa, kung isipin mo. So my daughter is very, very, very much healthy,” she said.
The 23-year-old flight attendant from General Santos City was found dead in a hotel room in Makati City following a New Year’s Eve celebration with her friends.
Her friends and the hotel’s staff rushed Christine to a hospital but she was declared dead on arrival due to ruptured aortic aneurysm.
“Ang anak ko, ‘yung company where my daughter is working is hindi ‘yan siya pwede mag-duty kung may diperensya ang health so para sa akin, ang anak ko parang na-set up na talagang ginamit lang ‘yung anak ko,” Sharon said.
(My daughter would not be allowed by her company to go on duty if she had health problems. So for me, my child was set-up, she was abused.)

In an earlier news conference, Christine Dacera’s mother appealed to President Rodrigo Duterte for help in seeking justice for the death of her daughter.
“Tatay Digong, Tatay Digong… tulungan mo kami. Ordinaryo lang po ako na tao. ordinaryo lang po ‘yung pamilya ko,” Sharon said.
Christine Dacera’s mother also sought help from Duterte’s daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, saying that the mayor also has a daughter.
“I don’t want that somebody will be victim again of this brutality… Binaboy ninyo ang anak ko! Ayaw ko may mangyari diyan na may babaeng bababuyin ninyo ulit,” she said.
