A suspected child abuser arrested at Manila airport was allegedly planning to recreate 50 Shades of Grey with his young victims.

Police today (Thursday, October 26) revealed that Robin Hoyt Alderman was carrying vibrators and other sex toys in anticipation of meeting underage victims in Manila.

As we previously reported, the 58-year-old was arrested at Terminal Two of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Monday following a tip-off from the US Department of Homeland Security.

Although Alderman, who works as a yoga instructor, was prevented from actually abusing the children, the fact that he booked them for that purpose was enough to charge him under the Anti-Human Trafficking Law.

At today’s press briefing, Superintendent Maria Shiela Portento, of the police’s Women and Children Protection Centre (WCPC), said: “On the basis of his ongoing communications with the victim that constituted procuring hiring and obtaining minor for the purpose of pornography and sexual exploitation, all of these are violations of the expanded Anti-Human trafficking law of the Philippines.”

Since the arrest of the Californian, three of his intended victims, aged between 14 and 15, have been taken into protective custody.

Police Superintendent Villamor Tuliao, chief of the WCPC’s anti-trafficking-in-person division, said: “Trafficking is a continuous crime, which can be committed even without the actual exploitation. He’s a sex traveller.

“It was specified there in the report what he will do. It was indicated there all the things he will do to the children. He described how he wanted to do things like in 50 Shades of Grey with his victims.

“Aside from that, he was also making videos and selling them.”

According to Tuliao, Alderman has visited the Philippines on several previous occasions.

Alderman is now detained at Camp Crame as investigations continue.
