Checkpoints at NCR Plus boundaries returned before ECQ

Even before implementing enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila, some police checkpoints were tightened to prevent the spread of COVID-19 allegedly.

Just this morning, traffic flow was heavy at the checkpoint on Batasan-San Mateo Road, the boundary of Quezon City in the National Capital Region (NCR), and the town of San Mateo in Rizal province.

There are discontinued ones like those in the cockpit.

The Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) clarified that quarantine control points or checkpoints. At the same time, the NCR Plus travel bubble exists should be only on the boundary of Bulacan and Pampanga, Cavite and Batangas, and Laguna and Quezon.

Other checkpoints will serve as regular law enforcement checkpoints, such as the Quezon City-Bulacan area and some parts of Rizal that do not require strict human entry controls.

According to the IATF resolution, only authorized persons outside residence (APOR) will be allowed to enter and exit the NCR Plus area.

The Joint Task Force COVID-19 Shield said, expect tighter checkpoints once Metro Manila is in the ECQ.

In Cavite, towns and cities in the province have their own checkpoints to control the movement of people.

In Imus, the police chief set up checkpoints in barangays with high numbers of COVID-19 cases.

In Laguna, there are also checkpoints to block those coming from Metro Manila and Cavite who are not authorized to travel.

In Pampanga, checkpoints are already in place in Barangay Paralaya in Candaba, the boundary of San Miguel, Bulacan.

Those coming from the GCQ and ECQ areas must show a negative RT-PCR or antigen test result 48 hours before entering Pampanga.

The liquor ban is also back in the province. It is forbidden to sell and buy alcohol.

On the San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, and Caloocan City boundary, quarantine control points are already in place at the border.

Meanwhile, earlier curfew and use of quarantine pass are some of the things that will be implemented in Metro ’s enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

According to Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Benhur Abalos, in conjunction with the implementation of the ECQ from August 6 to 20, the curfew will be enforced from 8 pm to 4 am in Manila.
