Celebrities who will run in 2022 elections

Several artists, athletes, and well-known personalities have also submitted their certificates of candidacy (COC) to run in the 2022 elections.

COC submitters include re-electionist artists or those who have previously held a position.

In Makati, Jhong Hilario will run again for his second term as councilor.

In Manila, Yul Servo will try to snatch the vice mayoral post from being a congressman.

Action star Jerico Ejercito filed a COC to run for vice governor of Laguna, in tandem with former journalist Sol Aragones as governor.

In Camarines Sur, Anjo Yllana submitted the COC as congressman. Yllana first served as Quezon City councilor.

In Cebu City, Richard Yap will try again to be elected congressman following his defeat for the same seat in 2019.

In Victorias City, Negros Occidental, Star Magic artist Javi Benitez, Sue Ramirez’s boyfriend, will run for mayor.

In Nueva Ecija, Jason Abalos has also filed his candidacy as a vocalist.

In San Juan City, Mayor Francis Zamora’s council slate includes basketball players James Yap, Ervic Vijandre, Paul Artaid, and Don Allado.

When it comes to beauty queens, Ali Forbes, runner-up in Binibining Pilipinas and former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate, filed a COC as Quezon City councilor.

Beauty queen and actress Marissa del Mar also filed as a representative of the OFW (One Filipino Worldwide) Party-list.

Yesterday, the party-list group Talino at Galing ng Pinoy (TGP) was the first to file a COC.

Also added to the list is Maria Aurora Marcos running independent candidate.

She admitted that she did not have political machinery but said she was sincere in her desire to help the people.

She also said that she has no plans to withdraw from the candidacy even if former Sen. Bongbong Marcos, who has declared that he will run for the presidency, runs for the presidency.

Atty. Larry Gadon will also try his fate in the Senate for the third time. He has lost his first two senatorial races.

COC filing for election 2022 will last until Friday, October 8th.
