The bishop explained that participating in Earth Hour is also a meaningful demonstration of solidarity and concern for nature by providing a moment to relax.

“Please let us cooperate kasi napakagandang adhikain nito at ang Earth Hour ay pinasimulan yan ng World Wildlife Fund at naging isa sa pinakamalaking parang confederation of all ecological movements in the world.

“Symbolic yung Earth Hour, ang pakikiisa mo ay simbolo na meron kang malasakit para sa ating kalikasan,” the part of Kalookan Bishop Pablo Virgilio David’s statement during his pastoral visit on-air on Radio Veritas.

The Bishop stressed we only have one world, so everyone should take care of it for the future of the next generation.

“Walang Planet B, isa lang yung planeta so far na nakitain natin ng buhay tapos sisirain pa natin, para bang now we are realizing, napakadali para sa tao na wasakin ang kanyang tahanan at kapag winasak natin itong nag-iisang tahanan natin, anong winawasak natin, sarili natin kinabukasan natin. Gusto ba natin ang mga future generation they will back and blame us na dahil sa kapabayaan natin at kawalan natin ng malasakit ay winasak natin ang ating tahanan,” Bishop David added.

The Earth Hour is scheduled for March 27, 2021, where everyone is invited to take part in the meaningful turning off of the lights for an hour from 8:30 pm.

“Ano yung gagawin, yun lang at 8:30 in the evening of this coming Saturday, March 27 patayin yung mga pwedeng patayin na mga kuryente, na gumagamit ng kuryente lalong lalo na ang mga ilaw isang oras lang naman. Parang yung 1 hour na yun makikipagbonding ka with rest of the people around the world who would like to do this symbolically as an expression nung ating malasakit para sa ating kalikasan,” said Bishop David.
