The BuCor spokesperson said the violence broke out at 2:30 am and involved “hardcore personalities” from two warring groups, Sputnik and Commando gangs.

“Yung dalawang grupo po nagkainitan, nagkaabutan,” the official said, adding the violence was contained only in the East quadrant of Bilibid.

An investigation is ongoing to determine what caused the riot inside Bilibid, Chaclag said.

Quezon City Police District police chief Brigadier General Ronnie Montejo identified the suspect as Ronald Cajepe, 38, also a construction worker.

Suspect Anselmo Singkol said Cajepe is the one who allegedly killed Arjay Belencio and Glydel Belonio, and their friend Mona Ismael, in the house where the suspects work.

According to Montejo, Cajepe surrendered to Police Major Sandie Caparroso, deputy station commander of Station 6, this afternoon.

The official added that Cajepe allegedly admitted that he had participated in the crime in a subdivision in North Caloocan last month.

He said his conscience bothered him, so he surrendered.
