Carlos Yulo admits he was disappointed, cried after qualification round

Even if he goes home without a medal, it seems that the morale of top Pinoy gymnast Carlos Yulo is still high after his first competition in the Olympic Games.

This is far from what he looked like last week in the qualification phase when he failed to enter the final round of floor exercise – where he was the favorite to win a medal.

In an interview with OneSports, the world champion athlete admitted that he was also very disappointed with what happened during the qualification, which led to intense crying when he returned to his room.

But, he explains, it was only one night because he also understood that the road to sport is not always easy.

“Isang gabi lang ako sobrang down. Ganoon talaga nangyayari. Naiintindihan ko po yun. Di palaging smooth yung daan lalo na sports ito,” added the seven-time SEA Games medalist.

Meanwhile, Carlos Yulo missed the finals of the vault, finishing in fourth place with a score of 14.716 – just 0.017 less than the bronze medal.

According to the player, he felt a bit nervous on his first fall, which resulted in an error on his fall and a 0.1 deduction.

But on its second attempt, Yulo did the routine well and even got a high score (14.866).

Despite the regret, Yulo is still happy because he has already experienced stepping into the Olympics.

In his Instagram post, the athlete also said that it would come back stronger next time.
