26-year-old Brayan Engay, resident of Purok 3 in Mintal, Davao City has been arrested after a manhunt in Tugbok earlier this month. He is accused of sexually abusing a women in front of her three children on April 17.
Prosecutors recommended filing the charges against Engay before the Davao City Regional Trial Court based on the positive identification by the woman.
Prosecutors also said that results of a medical certificate on the complainant was also enough to file formal charges against Engay.
Police launched a hunt for Engay after the sexual assault. He is also accused of hurting the complainant after the accused bashed a stone against her head before accosting her.
A witness to the event said that Engay was seen leaving the victim’s house at about 10pm that same day, he was bleeding from his left hand, had scratch wounds to his neck and his right eye was red and seemed in a hurry, uneasy and sweating.
