The Philippines Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) said it will implement a strict rule on enforcing the use of e-filing and e-forms next month.
BIR has said it will start to penalise taxpayers who do not use the e-file system and its new e-file forms. The revenue generating system will start to slap taxpayers with a 1,000 peso fine for every return handed in not using the sytsem.
The e-filing system was introduced by the two years ago with a total of 36 forms now available.
Forms are fillable online, or at the offices of the BIR where the calculations are made automatically – taxpayers print out the calculations and submit them to the office.
