Lina Hristova, a 65-year-old Bulgarian living in Barangay Poblacion in Santa Maria, Bulacan, was shot and killed by an unidentified gunman.
The report that reached the office of Ferdinand Divina, Bulacan police director, identified the victim.
Reports note that the victim and her companion, Jhoana Rodrigo, were on their way to visit the son of Hristova. The son, Dentsislav Hristova, is under the custody of the Bureau of Immigration Division in Taguig City. Upon reaching their destination, the unidentified suspect suddenly appeared and shot the victim three times.
The victim was rushed to Rogaciano Mercado Memorial Hospital in Barangay Poblacion, but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
The Scene of the Crime Operatives Team from Bulacan Provincial Crime Laboratory Office processed the crime scene for evidence, and a follow-up investigation is being undertaken for the possible identification and arrest of the suspect.
Proper coordination with the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria has been conducted.
