Presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. underwent a drug test after President Rodrigo Duterte’s 3 blind items that one of the candidates was using cocaine.

Bongbong Marcos insisted that he was not hit by Duterte’s blind item.

“I don’t feel that I am the one being alluded to. In spite of that, I believe it is my inherent duty as an aspiring public official to assure my fellow Filipinos that I am against illegal drugs,” said Bongbong Marcos.

The other presidential candidates also expressed readiness to undergo a drug test.

“Ako naman po willing po ako magpa-drug test anytime of the day. Anytime po kung kakailanganin,” said Bong Go.

“Why not, if they want to… We need to submit ourselves to the general public,” said Isko Moreno.

“Kung oobligahin ako ng Comelec… ay welcome akong magpa-drug test,” said Leody de Guzman.

On the other hand, Manny Pacquiao admitted that he tried shabu when he was young but said it was due to a lack of knowledge about it.

Panfilo Lacson and Tito Sotto had previously taken a drug test.

According to Sotto, they tested Lacson at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) office.

What we underwent was not ordinary testing. PDEA uses a multidrug testing kit. It can check all types of  encompassing holistic drug tests,” Sotto told reporters.

“Ordinary testing only checks marijuana and shabu,” he added.

The test results showed that the two were negative for any type of drug.

Last week, President Rodrigo Duterte said a presidential aspirant in the 2022 elections was using cocaine.

“There is even a presidential candidate na nag-cocaine. May kandidato tayo na nagko-cocaine ‘yan. ‘Yung  ng mayaman. Kaya nga nagtataka ako. Anong nagawa ng tao na yan?” according to the president with no name mentioned.

“I am just asking what contribution has he made para sa Pilipinas? ‘Yan lang ang gusto kong tanungin,” he added.
