Bomb explodes outside SM Mall's van terminal in Davao City

A bomb planted or transported at the SM Mall, Ecoland in Davao City hurt one van driver when it exploded at 9.45am on Wednesday.

Davao City Police say the passenger van was hit by the explosion as its passengers disembarked at the Ecoland condominiums in Matina district, Davao City

Police say the van’s passengers were unhurt by the explosion. However authorities have not confirmed whether the bomb was inside the van or outside (in speculation of the information, it appears that van in fact was carrying the bomb).

Reports say the van originated from the region of Pikit, in Cotabato.

Police say they have not received information on who is responsible for the attack.

Officials are looking at a motive and also are performing a post-blast investigation into the matter.
