Under the new executive order of Biliran Gov. Rogelio Espina, home quarantine will no longer be allowed for returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs) and returning residents (RRs) unless the municipal health office sees that it will work for them, especially if they are senior citizens, children, seriously ill, pregnant or breastfeeding.

All ROFs and RRs also have to go through a maximum of 18 days quarantine from their arrival in the town they are going to in Biliran, even if they are complete with COVID vaccines and tested negative in the swab test.

Mandatory RT-PCR test will also be implemented for all ROFs and RRs five days from the start of their quarantine.

Last month, those who have already completed two doses of COVID-19 vaccine in Naval town, Biliran, can receive more than the usual rice and grocery items prizes.

They can also win 10 pigs, 5 cows, or a motorcycle in the local government raffle.

According to Naval Mayor Gerard Espina, this is a way for the Naval local government to encourage Navaleños to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

“Year-end po raffle namin para marami ang makakasali kasi limited supply ang vaccine, pero at least may pang-motivate sa mga ayaw magpa-vaccine,” said Espina.

The Naval local government received praise from the Department of Health.

To encourage residents to get vaccinated against COVID-19, several LGUs in the country have announced that they will raffle prizes for those vaccinated.
