The Baretto sisters had a fight at their father’s wake, which allegedly resulted in a physical confrontation between Marjorie Baretto and Claudine Baretto at The Heritage Park in Taguig, Thursday night.
Claudine, the youngest of the controversial Barretto sisters, is currently confined at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City.
Ruby Baguhin brought the actress to the hospital after she complained of dizziness and sustained an injury on her hand following the alleged physical fight with Marjorie.
Baguhin was a staff of Claudine’s older sister Gretchen Barretto.
Baguhin said during Baretto sisters’ fight, Marjorie physically attacked Claudine. She also said Marjorie’s daughter and young actress Julia Baretto was also part of the confrontation.
President Rodrigo Duterte tried to fix Baretto sisters’ feud
Before Claudine and Marjorie’s altercation, Marjorie already fought with Gretchen on Wednesday night.
Gretchen said President Rodrigo Duterte, who sympathized with the family, “was asking Marjorie to shake my hand for the sake of respect of my father, but Marjorie was not happy that I was there to reunite with family.”
“It was all so nice until Marjorie had a nervous breakdown,” Gretchen said.
Those who saw the incident said Marjorie accused Gretchen of being “plastic, porke nandito ang President (just because the President is here).”
Sources said one of the Baretto grandchildren attacked Gretchen, but some friends restrained Gretchen and prevented her from retaliating against her niece.
However, when everyone thought the fight was over, Gretchen suddenly grabbed her niece by the hair, and a scuffle ensued. Witnesses said Presidential Security Group members had to break up the fight.
The niece suffered a cut on her face while Gretchen apologized to President Duterte for what happened.
“He was shocked. On the way (to the wake), he was briefed that not all is well with the Barretto family, but maybe he was not prepared to see such a display,” a witness said, telling how President Duterte reacted to Baretto sisters’ fight at their father’s wake.
