Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III thanked the Quezon City government for conducting “Bakuna Nights” or vaccination of the COVID-19 vaccine at night.
According to the secretary, this is a great help to workers who cannot miss their day jobs. He said it is important to vaccinate workers so that the economy can move and for businesses to return to normal.
“Unang una, nagpapasalamat po ako kay Mayor Joy at kahit papaano, na-gather niya itong mga manggagawa. Ito po yung mga behikulo ng ekonomiya natin, kung walang manggawa, hindi gagalaw ang ekonomiya kaya napakahalaga,” said Bello.
“It is very obvious na kailangan natin mabakunahan ang ating mga manggagawa para gumalaw ang ekonomiya. Hopefully, kapag nabakunahan na natin ang lahat ng manggagawa, back to normal na ang negosyo, back to normal na ang ating ekonomiya,” he added.
According to Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, the Bakuna Nights are a success because up to 20,000 workers have been vaccinated. The local government also intends to have 24 -hour vaccinations if there is an adequate supply of them.

“That proves na marami talaga tayong mga manggagawa na hindi talaga nakakapagpabakuna during regular work hours. Sa tingin ko that is a testament to the success of this Bakuna Nights project,” said Belmonte.
At present, the city’s vaccine supply is said to be declining, so the vaccination may be carried out at night until tomorrow.
On the other hand, Belmonte ensured that the supply was reserved for the recipients of the second dose of the vaccine. As a result, Bakuna Nights are being held at the Quezon City hall, but the local government also plans to do so in Novaliches in case there is an adequate supply of vaccines.
On the other hand, Deputy Chief Implementer Secretary Vince Dizon was pleased that Quezon City was one of the countries that recorded the most vaccinated residents in recent months. It is said that up to 50,000 people have been vaccinated in Quezon City in one day.
“Sa loob po ng ilang buwan, ang nakapag-register ng pinakamaraming nabakunahan sa isang araw ay ang lungsod ng Quezon. Halos 50,000 sa loob ng isang araw,” she said.
