Baguio City accepts fully vaccinated tourists with no swab test

Travelers who are fully vaccinated can now enter and visit Baguio City even if they do not show a negative swab test result.

However, travelers are required to have a valid vaccination card or certificate as proof that they have completed their 1st and 2nd dose vaccine against coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

On Monday, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases released new guidelines that allow fully vaccinated individuals to present their vaccination card only if they wish to travel to the Philippines.

According to Baguio City Tourism, the vaccinating establishment of the traveler must be stated on the vaccination card or certificate.

In accordance with IATF Resolution No. 124-B, the Baguio City government said they would consider individuals fully vaccinated about two weeks after all their vaccination doses.

Tourists who have not yet completed their vaccine doses must show a negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) or antigen test result. Baguio also implements mandatory triage when entering the city for health and documents verification.

Apart from the vaccination card or any proof that the OFW has been vaccinated, returning OFWs must also present their valid passport or travel document.

He also said that the verified employment contract must be presented to the POLO offices in their host country.

Meanwhile, Malacañang congratulated the country after up to 12 million doses of vaccine against COVID-19 were injected into the people.

“Ito po ay mabuting balita – narating na natin ang 12th million mark of doses administered. Congratulations, Philippines!” said Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque.
