Bacoor LGU readies mega vaccination hubs, storage facilities

The mega vaccination centers in Bacoor city in Cavite are being set up, in preparation for the arrival of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccines in the city.

According to the local government, freezers and refrigerators to house the vaccines have arrived.

Up to 10 freezers and 15 refrigerators for the vaccines have arrived and are being distributed to health centers.

He said the city’s cold storage facilities are also ready.

Some, like Rowena Garco, 50, are ready to be vaccinated when the COVID-19 vaccines arrive.

But some residents, such as Maricris Postrero still have doubts.

Although the local government is ready, the mayor has yet to say when the vaccines they ordered and those from the national government will arrive.

“So far hinihintay na lang namin ‘yung pagbaba ng kung anumang bakuna yung bababa sa amin galing national, yung purchase namin, we are on the second batch of the orders coming in for the city,” said Mercado Revilla.

It will be recalled that the Philippines, the private sector, and local governments have reached an agreement with AstraZeneca to order the doses of their COVID-19 vaccines, which are expected to arrive this year.

So far, only Sinovac vaccines are coming from China, which are among the first targets to be given to those on the priority list of the government’s vaccination drive such as medical frontliners.
