At least 14 people were wounded when a hand grenade was lobbed into a crowd enjoying a festival in Sultan Kudarat, on the island of Mindanao.
Police say the the blast occurred near AG Advance Gasoline Station along the Isulan-Tacurong City national highway at 8.30pm.
Those hurt were taken to the local hospital.
Sections of the national highway were closed to traffic to accommodate the festival – the bomb went off in a heavily attended ‘used clothing’ section of the festival.
Police and military bomb experts are still at the blast scene gather evidence – so far only fragments from the grenade have been recovered.
No one has claimed responsibility in the attack which came as the province celebrates the end of the Kalimudan (thanksgiving) Festival.
