American singer Jim Brickman is facing a court case in Manila for his part in violating Republic Act 8293 (the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines).
Brickman is accused by singer and composer Nelson Castillo of including the song IF on his album Hope released in 2008. Documents show the album gave no credit to Castillo for the authorship, composition orownership of the song.
Also named as respondents to the trial case were Universal Tunes and Compass Productions-Sommerset Entertainment.
