Hernaiz, from Talisay City, is being held at Abellana police station. Rey Lumagod, desk officer at the station, has been unable to confirm if any charges will be brought against her.

The attack took place inside an unidentified hotel along Cebu City’s Osmeña Boulevard.

According to a report on Bombo Radyo, Hernaiz said she knew Finch was having sex with men, as she had previously refused to allow him to have anal intercourse with her.

Although she apparently turned a blind eye, she said it was understood that any sexual encounters should not take place in the couple’s hotel room.

It was when Hernaiz arrived to find her boyfriend having sex with a man, that she flew into a rage and stabbed him on the left side of his chest.

The Bombo Radyo report says that Finch had been in the Philippines for three months, and was due to return to Missouri to start a new semester lecturing in philosophy.
