An American fugitive wanted in two states for drugs and human trafficking will be deported from the Philippines to face justice.

In a statement today (Monday, August 26) Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Jaime Morente said Corey West Glenn, aged 43, was arrested by the BI’s Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) in Makati City yesterday.

Morente said the foreigner would be deported “for being an undesirable alien whose presence here poses a risk to public safety and security”.

The BI chief also said that Glenn was an undocumented and illegally staying in the country after the US government revoked his passport.

FSU chief Bobby Raquepo said a bench warrant was issued against the American fugitive by the Judicial Circuit Court in Benton County, Arkansas, in July last year.

The warrant was issued after he allegedly failed to appear in the hearing for the charges of trafficking in persons and delivery of controlled substance that were filed against him.

Raquepo said that in August 2018, the Judicial Circuit Court in Taney County, Missouri, also issued a warrant against Glenn, also for failure to appear in a scheduled hearing.

Glenn is now locked up at the BI’s Bicutan detention centre as his deportation is arranged.

Also today the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested an American for possession of marijuana at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Geoffrey Wai Hin Tsui, 30, was about to depart for Singapore — having arrived from Los Angeles — when a stick of the drug was spotting during inspection at a screening checkpoint.

He is now in the custody of the PDEA while investigations continue.
