An American man sought the assistance of the police after his fiancee ran away with his money and valuables.
65-year-old Don Austin Peach of University Tower, in Malate, told police he lost a total of 150,000 pesos cash and some 46,000 pesos in valuable to his girlfriend.
The Pinay fiancee, 32-year-old Anne Marie Estrada, of Cagayan de Oro City, made him buy a lot of things for her and he even had a house built for her in her province, said Peach.
Peach told police he met his fiance’ in August of 2015 through the dating website Asiadating.com.
The two are said to have been going steady in 2015 – but then decided to meet personally – meeting in a coffee shop at the Robinson’s Mall in Ermita.
The American told police that he was flying back and forth in the country, but suddenly got the surprise of his life when his fiance’ suddenly left him, taking his money and valuables.
