American arrested in buy bust operation in Zambales

An American national was arrested by the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Unit in Barangay Del Pilar Castillejos, Zambales.

The suspect was identified as John Louis May, a 42-year-old American national.

Recovered from the suspect were: 50 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of P340,000 and boodle money used in the drug-bust operation.

May and the evidence are currently in the custody of authorities.

Meanwhile, the alleged leader of the Berto Carnapping group was arrested in Barangay Wawa, Taguig City.

Based on the initial report of the Southern Police District, the said group, which is notorious for stealing vehicles in the said city, is on the watchlist of the Taguig police.

Their personnel responded to the said area after the alleged perpetrator of the commotion allegedly received a report from the sixty-five-year-old suspect “Oglas” at the Pepay Compound in the said barangay.

The suspect was immediately arrested because he was not wearing a face mask. Additionally, the authorities discovered a caliber thirty-eight and an MK2 hand grenade when inspecting his equipment.

The suspect will face charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and violation of the Omnibus Election Code.

Taguig provides 10,000 free molnupiravir capsules

Taguig City distributed oral medicine for COVID-19 to residents in need.

About ten thousand capsules of molnupiravir were turned over by the LGU to the City Health Office to be given to patients.

COVID-19 patients of Taguig can seek anti-viral medication by calling the Telemedicine of their barangays.

But patients will be examined by a doctor first to make sure they need the medication.

It will be delivered right to their home free of charge.

In December, the Food and Drug Administration or FDA first issued emergency use authorization for the use of molnupiravir.

According to Mayor Lino Cayetano, the program aims to lower the hospitalization rate in the city.

Based on the last record of Taguig, the city has 599 active COVID-19 cases.
