Alpha Phi Beta offers reward for info on missing lawyer

Alpha Phi Beta Fraternity, the fraternity of missing lawyer Ryan Oliva, offers a reward to any person who could give information on Oliva’s whereabouts.

“The Alpha Phi Beta Fraternity is appealing for help to anyone who has any information about the whereabouts of FLC Ryan P. Oliva AΦB 2002G. He has been missing since Saturday, 21 November 2020, when he left their family home in Quezon City, and he was last seen in Nasugbu, Batangas, at around 5 in the afternoon of the following day, November 22, 2020,” it said in a Facebook post.

“In order to aid in the search, the Fraternity is willing to give a reward of P100,000.00 to any person who can provide credible information that will help us find Atty. Oliva,” it added.

Anyone who has any information on the missing lawyer could call or message 0921-280-1941 or 0917-589-2732. They can also send an email to findingattyryan@gmail.com.

Ryan Oliva was last seen in Nasugbu, Batangas, on November 22.

Last Friday, Mimaropa police said Oliva’s bag containing his belongings was found on the shore of Looc, Occidental Mindoro.

Jinny Histas, an employee of Algimar Construction Co., found the bag covered with sand and trash in Sitio Natalon in Barangay Balikyas.

According to Police Col. Hordan Pacatiw, Occidental Mindoro police director, the lawyer’s bag could have been washed ashore in Looc.

Last week, the Department of Tourism coordinated with PNP-CIDG in finding the missing lawyer. Oliva is the chief of the agency’s Legislative Liaison United.

“The Department urges everyone who may have any information on the whereabouts of Atty. Oliva, to coordinate with the PNP- CIDG Chief Major General Joel Napoleon Coronel through number +63 920 905 1987,” the tourism agency said.

“The DOT also requests for prayers for successful search efforts and appeals for respect for the privacy of the Oliva family,” it added.

His brother, Randy, said leads may be sent to +63  906 300 1009.

Oliva is a professor at the UP College of Law, teaching legal history and the law on agency and partnership.

According to his profile at UP Law, Oliva obtained his B.A. in Journalism (2006) and J.D. (2011) from the University of the Philippines. He was a recipient of the UP Law Dean’s Medals for academic excellence and leadership and was cited by the UP Office of Legal Aid as one of its outstanding law interns.
