Many Imus residents also want to be vaccinated against COVID-19, said Maliksi.

Calabarzon, where Cavite is located, is one of the regions experiencing the rise of COVID-19 cases in the country.

Meanwhile, the number of active  cases or still sick in Laguna has jumped to 3,000, Governor Ramil Hernandez said this Sunday.

In an interview with TeleRadyo, Hernandez said that of the 3,000 active cases, 26 were cases of the more contagious Delta variant of the virus.

He said this is one of the reasons why the province was subjected to enhanced community  (ECQ), the strictest  status, until mid-August.

According to Hernandez, the enforcement of health protocols is now stricter, and they have also added a police force.

The vaccination campaign in the province has also been intensified “that’s why we really have a problem with the supply of vaccine,” said the governor.

Only up to 10 percent of the target population is being vaccinated against COVID-19 in the province.
