Abu Sayyaf has freed a Chinese woman who they kidnapped nearly two years ago on the island of Basilan.
Sulu provincial police say Yahong Tan Lim was freed at 1pm on Tuesday in Barangay Danag, Patikul, Sulu. She was immediately secured by members of the anti-kidnapping group who apparently had been forewarned of her release
Lim was kidnapped with her mother, Dina Tan Iraham, on May 22, 2014. Mrs Irahan, a businesswoman, was freed last year.
Abu Sayyaf had demanded 30 million pesos for the release of both women. It is not known if any money was paid to secure their release.
