A treat for nature lovers: BBC Earth in HD is coming to the Philippines

Lovers of nature documentaries in the Philippines will soon be able to watch BBC Earth in HD.

BBC Worldwide has announced a partnership with Cignal TV to launch the channel along with BBC World News in the country.

Cignal TV, a subscription-based direct-to-home satellite television service provider, will offer the new channels to its 1.6 million viewers on April 1.

Myleeta Aga, regional BBC manager, said: “We are very excited that two highly rated channels from the BBC will now be available to Cignal’s subscribers.

“The Philippines is a country that is deeply passionate about natural history – it has the highest rate of discovery of new animal species with 16 new species of mammals discovered just in the last 10 years. (Read more here)
