Six online sellers were arrested on Monday for alcohol overpricing in Pampanga and Tarlac.
At a police poseur buyer’s signal, a man who was carrying 17 liters of overpriced alcohol was nabbed in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Camachiles, Mabalacat City, Pampanga on Monday afternoon.
Operatives have ordered from the suspect through his social media account. He was caught selling alcohol at P300 per liter, twice the P122-148.50 price Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) stipulation.
According to Police Col. Jean Fajardo, provincial director of the Pampanga Police, the suspect posted on Facebook that he was selling alcohol. The suspect identified 20-year-old Jerico Torres, along with his 15-year-old accomplice, who was driving a motorcycle, were arrested.
Torres defended that it was already their last transaction after they found out that selling alcohol online is prohibited.

With the joint force of the DTI and the National Bureau of Investigation Central Luzon Regional Office, alias Emma was also involved in the online sale of overpriced alcohol was caught in an entrapment operation in Angeles City.
Alyas Emma met up with a poseur buyer in Barangay Salapungan, Angeles City, Pampanga, to sell the 43 liters of alcohol for P10,000.
She sold the alcohol for 280 pesos per liter. Her two accomplices waiting in her car were also arrested.
An additional 35 liters of alcohol were recovered.
In the follow-up operation, the alleged supplier of alias Emma alias Arnee of Bamban, Tarlac, was arrested.
Authorities seized 40 gallons of alcohol, which he sold for P750, almost double the DTI’s SRP.
All those arrested are now facing charges.
