4 police officers caught drinking while on duty in a checkpoint, early Friday morning, September 6.
NATIONAL Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Director Guillermo Eleazar ordered for the relief of the four policemen.
Brigadier General Gerry Galvan, chief of the NCRPO Internal Affairs Service (IAS) conducted a surprise inspection at around 2 a.m. in a Las Piñas checkpoint. There they caught the cops having a drinking session while on duty.
Patrolman Samuel Inoc and Corporals Alquin Orgen, Randy Danao and Robemar Abales of Las Piñas Police Station 6 were caught in the act in a drinking spree at a gasoline station along Alabang Zapote Road.
“Nakipag-coordinate sa akin ‘yung bagong RIAS kaka-assume lang niya and ang guidance ko is tulungan ako inspection and monitoring ng pulis at ginawa naman diyan nag-conduct siya ng inspection. Tutuluyan yan mag-file ng kaso administrative against those cops. We also disarmed them,” Eleazar said.
Police officers caught drinking will face administrative charges
Eleazar already ordered Gavian to file administrative charges against the policemen.
PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde issued an order forbidding policemen from drinking alcoholic beverages specifically in public places. He also prohibits them from visiting casinos, night clubs, and other gambling facilities.
Police who would violate such order will face grave misconduct charges. Those found guilty will be dismissed from the service.
