2 high schools in Imus opened as pediatric vaccination sites

Vaccination of youth ages 12 to 17 in Imus City, Cavite, will continue using 2 of its high schools as vaccination sites.

Vaccination began at Imus National High School and General Emilio Aguinaldo National High School on Monday.

According to Mayor Manny Maliksi, the city targets vaccinating 1,000 to 1,200 youth at each site per day.

But so far, less than 900 are on average vaccinated per day at a site.

The city government said the schools had been used to speed up the immunization of children, especially since students already have a record here and it is easier to access.

Teachers and non-teaching staff of schools also help with vaccinations.

The 2 schools have a combined population of 21,000 students.

Only young people of the rest of the population can be vaccinated at high school vaccination sites.

Young people with comorbidities or pediatric A3 category will still be vaccinated at the hospital.
