3 OFWs in Saudi Arabia robbed; one of the victims raped

Three OFWs in Saudi Arabia, one of whom was raped, were robbed by two unidentified men who broke into their residence on Wednesday night.

The victims said that the culprits were identified themselves as policemen, then tied their hands and ransacked the whole house to steal, and even raped one of them.

According to Ana (not her real name), someone knocked on their door at around ten o’clock on Wednesday night.

She said she thought her colleague was knocking so she opened the door complacently.

She said she was just surprised when two men wearing face masks and holding guns and ID appeared in front of her.

Then, according to Ana, they hid in a room, and then the two men searched their residence.

According to Ana, what is even more painful is one of the intruders allegedly raped her.

The Kaagapay Advocate Group, a group that helps OFWs, immediately advised them to call the police through the hotline to help them immediately.

In an interview with Consul General Edgar Badajos of the Philippine Consulate in Jeddah, he said that the victims did the right thing by calling the police to help them immediately.

He also said that the consulate staff could not come to them immediately to help them because of the distance from their location in Jeddah where the consulate is located.

The Abha area, where the said OFWs are located, is about eight-hour travel from Jeddah.
