3 most wanted arrested in separate operations in Manila

Three people on the list of most wanted persons were arrested in separate operations conducted by the authorities in Manila.

According to a report by GMA News reporter Jonathan Andal in “Unang Balita” on Wednesday, the fourth most wanted of the Sampaloc Police Station Jay-R Saldivar with a case of frustrated murder was arrested.

Saldivar is said to be among those who stabbed a man in Manila in October last year.

The police chase for Saldivar in Sampaloc lasted for five minutes.

CCTV footage shows residents also running when they saw the civilian policemen chasing the suspect armed.

“Actually dahil sa mga bubungan siya dumaan at nasabit siya sa mga yero sa pag-aakala niya na matatakasan niya ‘yung mga operatiba natin,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Gene Licud, chief of the Sampaloc Police Station.

“Nadamay lang po ako. Kaya po ako nadamay doon kasi kami ang kilala no’ng tao, kami ang binanggit na pangalan,” Saldivar defended.

Meanwhile, Leonardo Galiendes, who was wanted in the murder case, was cornered on a bus.

He did not give an interview to the media.

“Accordingly itong family ng victim ay ginagawan daw siya ng mga kuwento at madalas nabu-bully siya. Binaril niya sa sentido,” Licud said.

3 most wanted arrested in separate operations in Manila

In Malate, the Top 9 most wanted Sandra Gurabel Suralta, a pregnant woman, was arrested.

Suralta was charged with eight counts of qualified theft by her former recruitment agency.

She used to work as a household worker department head in the agency but even though she was not authorized by the company, the suspect also allegedly recruited using the name of an agent.

“Nagpasok din siya ng sarili niya na mga gustong magtrabaho bilang domestic helper. Kapag siya ang nagpasok, kokomisyunan niya ang agent ng P2,000 sa kaniyang P8,000,” according to Police Lieutenant Colonel Cristito Acohon, chief of the Malate Police.

The suspect refused to give a statement.

In July 2020, authorities arrested Ruben Ecleo Jr, the Number 1 Top Most Wanted Person in the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s reward list in Pampanga.
