3 members of Korean phishing criminal group arrested

Three members of the Korean Voice Phishing Criminal Group, all sentenced to 10 years in prison in Korea, were arrested by National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) operatives using the Interpol Red Notice, in Fort Bonifacio, City.

The arrested fugitives were identified as Kwon Hyeoksoo, 39; Sim Dong Woo, 39; and Lim Yeongjun, 36, all residents of Unit 302 Lucerne Building, Asteria Residences, Brgy. San Isidro, Parañaque City.

According to the report sent to NCRPO chief, P / Major General Debold Sinas, the arrest was made after the authorities contacted the Fugitive Search Unit of the Bureau of Immigration.

Through the Interpol Red Notice, the three were arrested around 11:45 a.m. and taken to the Metro Manila District Field Unit Office at SPD Compound, Lawton Ave., Fort Bonifacio, City.

The investigation revealed the three were all members of the Korean criminal group involved in online loan fraud in the Philippines and Korea.

Over P23.5-M worth of suspected party drugs, marijuana seized in Pasay

Authorities discovered more than P23.5-million worth of suspected party drugs and marijuana contained in abandoned shipments from other countries during their inspection in Pasay City on Wednesday.

The Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group of Ninoy Aquino International Airport used K-9 dogs in the parcel profiling and full operation at the Central Mall Exchange Center.

A parcel from California was declared to contain only beauty cream to be sent to Negros Oriental but was found to contain ten vape cartridges containing suspected marijuana oil.

The agency will conduct follow-up on the names of recipients of suspicious shipments.
