Police in Pasay City rescued 2 Chinese couples who were allegedly abducted by fellow Chinese for ransom.
Two Chinese and a Filipino involved in the alleged kidnapping were arrested in entrapment in a parking lot in Barangay 13 Wednesday night.
The van dropped them off after one of them took the money.
But Pasay Police chief Col Cesar Paday-os said this is the second group to kidnap 2 Chinese victims, both 38-years-old and from Makati.
According to the victims, they were applying for a job with an identified employer in Las Piñas.
But when they went there last weekend, they were allegedly shot and imprisoned for 3 days in a house.
Relatives of the victims in China allegedly paid 1.5 million Chinese yuan or more than P11 million via electronic transfer.
But when the money was recovered, they sold 2 Chinese to the group of suspects.
The group allegedly demanded P400,000 for their release.
It was here that a Filipino, 33, who was ordered to hand over the ransom, asked the police for help.
The 2 Chinese allegedly worked for the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO) while the Filipino introduced himself as a bodyguard.

The suspects are facing charges of kidnapping with ransom.
Police are still looking for 2 persons of interest who fled during the entrapment operation.
Last month, authorities arrested 4 Filipino men for robbing their Chinese national employer in Parañaque City.
Based on the investigation, the suspects broke the gate padlock using a bolt cutter.
They tied the Chinese with plastic straws and packaging tape and stole nearly P1 million worth of property and 2 vaults with about P3 million in cash.
“Ito po ang nakakapagtaka kasi dahil dire-diretso sila. Ibig sabihin, alam na alam nila ang bahay na pupuntahan nila, Alam nila na may 2nd floor. Dire-diretso,” said Sebastian.
With the help of force multipliers who provided information to the police, the 4 suspects were tracked down in follow-up operations in Parañaque, Santa Maria town in Bulacan, Caloocan City, and Angono town in Rizal.
The P871,000 cash distributed to the suspects was recovered, and vehicles and a gun were believed to have been used in the crime.
