Supreme Court Senior Associate, Justice Antonio Carpio, announced on Sunday that works in courts nationwide will be until 2 p.m. only in celebration of 27th National Family Week, September 23.

The shortened office hours was to allow employees “to encourage them to spend mealtime with their families.”

Civil Service Commission (CSC) encourages all government agencies and state universities and colleges to extend their support for National Family Week celebration today, Sept. 23.

In their announcement, CSC said government employees can participate in the celebration through:

  • Simultaneously ringing bells at 12 p.m., an activity dubbed as “Ring a Family Bell,” as a symbol of nationwide awareness and commitment to commemorate the solidarity and unity of the Filipino family
  • Simultaneously ringing bells at 8 a.m. at state universities and colleges as a sign of support for the Filipino family

The National Family Week from September 23 to 28 aims to”strengthen the Filipino family unity and relationship through meaningful celebration and promotion of Filipino values.”
