2019 new coronavirus death toll now higher than SARS, MERS

The death toll for the 2019 new coronavirus is now 910, overtaking the worldwide fatalities of pandemic SARS in 2002-2003 and MERS in 2012.

Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) killed 774 people when it hit in 2002 to 2003, while the Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) took the lives of 858 people in 2012.

Meanwhile, the World Health Organization said the coronavirus outbreak seemed to be stabilizing in the last four days. However, they warned that the nCoV death toll could still “shoot up.”

The China virus already infected 40,553 people in the world. 6,494 of which are in serious or critical condition while 3,324 already recovered from the deadly virus.
