Early Monday morning, the two, along with Drakilou Falcon – who is charged with robbery with homicide – fled from the Maximum Security Compound in Bilibid.

The inmates went through Gate 4 until they came out of Gate 3 of Bilibid towards Sitio Magdaong. During their escape, they even fought with the correctional officers.

The wounded prison guards were rushed to the hospital.

Marinduque tightens borders due to rising COVID-19 cases

Marinduque will tighten border control again due to the rising COVID-19 case.

“Nailagay po nga kami sa Alert Level 3 kaya po ang ating regulasyon sa aming border ay medyo naghihigpit na po,” said Marinduque Gov. Presbitero Velasco Jr.

There are more than 80 patients with RT-PCR-confirmed COVID-19 cases, while 160 tested positive for antigen in the province.

For those entering Marinduque, unvaccinated and non-authorized persons outside residence must present RT-PCR or antigen test results.

Meanwhile, only those who have received COVID-19 vaccines will undergo a medical examination or assessment.

The province has temporarily suspended the entry of foreigners.

According to Velasco, another 42,000 people, or 25 percent, need to be vaccinated in Marinduque to reach herd immunity.
