Two children died after playing with a grenade they found while looking for swamp birds in Maguindanao.
The victims were identified as Nash Utto and Edris Guiaman, who both died from multiple shrapnel wounds when the grenade exploded.
The kids were hunting for swamp birds in Barangay Sampao in Radjah Buayan, Maguindanao, where they found the grenade.
Utto was dead on the scene while Guiaman was rushed to the hospital later died due to severe injuries.
Radjah Buayan Mayor Yacob Ampatuan said their relatives immediately buried the kids following the Islamic tradition of burying the dead within 24 hours after death.
The said barangay Sampao is where many gunfights between government soldiers and different terrorist groups occurred in the past years.

Man went berserk for not receiving cash aid
A man armed with knives went berserk and challenged people to a fight after he was not allegedly included in the list of Social Amelioration Program beneficiaries and fought with his wife.
Oscar Oida reported on GMA News “24 Oras” on Monday that the man was identified as Efren Andeya, of Barangay San Isidro.
In the video taken this Sunday, Andeya was seen topless, without a face mask, and holding two knives while in the middle of the road.
Police surrounded him, but no one came near to him except the negotiator.
Police Colonel Rogelio Simon, Makati police chief, said Andeya’s first reason on why he went beserk was he did not receive financial aid from the government.
But after nearly an hour of negotiations, Andeya calmly surrendered and announced in the precincts that he had also quarreled with his wife, which added to his stress.
Andeya faces several complaints, including alarms and scandals, illegal possession of deadly weapons, and violation of the ordinance on wearing a mask.
Last month, a resident in San Pablo City, Laguna, hacked a barangay chairman to death after he was denied of quarantine pass.
The suspect said he was angry at the barangay captain because he treats him like a puppy. He also accused the victim of harassing the women in the area.
