2 Chinese nationals tried to bribe Makati cops for P1.7 M

Police arrested two Chinese nationals who tried to bribe Makati City police officer for the release of their also detained fellow Chinese.

The Makati City police said Zhang Xiuqiang, 32, and Fan Jianping, 23 offered P1.7 million to Maj. Gideon Ines Jr., chief of Criminal Investigation Section of Makati police for the release of their countrymen who were arrested during the prostitution den raid.

The Chinese nationals went to the Criminal Investigation Section at Makati City Police Headquarters at 3:20 p.m. to “negotiate” with the police officers.

However, the two failed when Maj. Gideon Ines Jr. rejected the bribe money and ordered the arrest of the Chinese nationals.

Lawyer, 2 companions tried to bribe police to release arrested Chinese national

Just last month, Police caught a Filipino lawyer and his two companions for allegedly trying to bribe the authorities to release an arrested Chinese national who reportedly running a prostitution den in a condominium also in Makati City.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar told the reporters that Filipino lawyer as Joselito Vasquez, whose with a Chinese national Huang Xiangfei and driver Meljohn Palma, offered them P2 million pesos in exchange for his client Li Xuemei’s release.

Li Xuemei was arrested in the alleged prostitution den in a hotel in Makati City.

Vasquez and his companions then returned to the RSOU office, bringing only P1 million cash. The police launched the entrapment operation and arrested the suspects. The cops also confiscated P200,000 from the driver.

The suspects were charged with violating Article 212 or Corruption of Public Officer concerning Article 6 of the Revised Penal Code.
