15 cops sacked over escape of 6 Chinese detainees

QCPD director Brig. Gen. Ronnie Montejo fired 15 police officers from the District Mobile Force Battalion (DMFB) after six Chinese nationals escaped a detention cell at Camp Karingal on Monday.

According to the report, the fired cops were identified as P/Major Adonis Escamillan, PMSG Eranio Caguiao, PSSG Alvin Macrohon, PCPL Mark Nino Canicon, PCPL Reymund Evangelio, PCPL Loreto Calzo, Patrolman Denver John Dela Cruz, PSSG Recolito Ortega III, PMSG Jaime Maala, PCPL Jocelyn Villanueva, PCPL Nelda Seno, PSSG Andres Tungcul, PSSG Karan Chomling Faragso, PCPL Gregson Budao, and PCPL Mark Manuel.

Meanwhile, the Chinese inmates who escaped were POGO workers. They were again arrested less than 24 hours after they fled. They were identified as ZXhang Yi Xin, Ludon Jin Song, Song Qicheng, Lu Yinliang, Huang Yong Quiao, and Chen Bin.

It was learned that the foreigners went through the drainage were authorities caught them.

According to the report, the prison break was discovered during a routine headcount on Monday night.

“Nagsagawa ng routine headcount ang duty sentinel sa mga Chinese sa kanilang pansamantalang detention facility sa loob ng Kampo Karingal nang mapag-alamang nawawala ang anim na kasama sa 51 na may commitment order na sa kasong syndicated estafa,” said Montejo.

(The duty sentinel conducted a routine headcount of the Chinese suspects at their temporary detention facility inside the Karingal Camp after learning that six of the 51 with a commitment order in the syndicated estafa case were missing.)

The Chinese nationals are among 342 foreigners caught by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) in Brgy. Bago Bantay for working in the country without the necessary permits and visas.

Chinese arrested in drug buy-bust

A Chinese national was arrested in a buy-bust operation by Makati Police in Parañaque City yesterday afternoon.

The suspect was identified as Li Nannan, 21, a resident of A. Bonifacio St., Brgy. San Dionisio, Parañaque City.

Station Drug Enforcement Unit of Makati Police conducted a buy-bust operation at the corner of Kabihasnan and Ninoy Aquino Ave. Brgy. San Dionisio, Parañaque City.

The poseur-buyer was able to buy P5,000 worth of shabu from the suspect.

Authorities also recovered another sachet of shabu from the suspect worth P34,000, according to Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB).
