11-year-old girl dies in IloIlo shooting

An 11-year-old girl died after a bullet hit their house in Badiangan town, Iloilo this Sunday.

At around 6 pm, the said house was shot in Barangay Calansanan, according to the victim’s grandfather.

The grandfather was with his 5 grandchildren when the incident happened and he allegedly laid them down.

But the female victim was still hit in the head by a bullet, who was rushed to the hospital but was also declared dead on arrival.

Police in Janiuay town arrested the suspect, who was positively identified by the victim’s grandfather.

The motive for the shooting was revenge after the victim’s 2 uncles beat the suspect, according to police.

A murder case will be filed against the suspect, who is detained at the Badiangan Police Station.

Meanwhile, a couple was injured after a motorcycle they were riding in had an accident in Leon town, Iloilo on Sunday, in conjunction with Valentine’s Day.

Authorities identified the victims as Kirby Obiganda and his girlfriend Regine Velez.

According to the investigation, the couple came from Barangay Bucari to date and on their way home, Obiganda lost control of his motorcycle so they fell into a ravine in Barangay Maliao.

The municipal disaster office responded immediately.

The couple was rushed to the hospital, sustaining injuries to various parts of the body.

52 women rescued from prostitution at KTV bar in Pampanga

A total of 52 women was rescued from the alleged prostitution of a KTV bar in the Clark Freeport Zone in Mabalacat, Pampanga, where five of the suspects were arrested.

Corinne Catibayan reported on GMA News “24 Oras Weekend” on Saturday that the Special Concern Unit of Region 3 conducted an entrapment operation when they received a tip that prostitution was allegedly taking place in the said establishment.

Michelle, not her real name, said she only saw recruitment in a Facebook post that the model needed.

The suspects, who are facing charges of violating the “Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012,” did not give a statement.
