The 64-year-old woman who tripped over a bag at Bacolod Airport in a video which went viral in the Philippines, has filed a criminal complaint against the Bacolod businessman who caused the fall.

Rosario Hofilena seeks not less than five million pesos in damages.

The family of Mrs Hofilena earlier said that the victim suffered serious injuries in the incident, which occurred last year when she and her husband were supposed to leave Bacolod for Cebu City but were delayed due to her injuries.

While Mrs Hofilena was claiming her luggage from the airport X-ray machine, a man following her, later identified as a Mr Lizares, picked up two bags from the conveyor belt and placed them on the floor just behind her.

Mrs Hofilena then tripped on one of the  bags and fell flat on the floor. The CCTV video quickly went viral in the Philippines and abroad. Mr Lizares then picked up his bags and walked away, leaving Mrs Hofilena helpless on the floor.
