A woman has been arrested in Talisay City, Cebu, for allegedly engaging her underage sisters in online pornography.
The 20-year-old was taken into custody today (Friday, October 27) while her two sisters, students aged 16 and 17, have been taken into the protection of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Chief Inspector Leo Dofiles, of the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Office said the suspect used a cell phone to film the girls. She charged mainly foreign clients 5,000 pesos per “show”.
Chf. Insp. Dofiles did not identify the suspect in order to protect the identity of her sisters.
He also said police had been aware of the suspect’s porn business since September and had been gathering evidence against her in preparation for this morning’s raid.
The operation in Barangay Dumlog was conducted by the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking, DSWD, Talisay Women and Children Protection Desk, Special Weapons And Tactics, Cebu Provincial Police Office-Public Safety Company, and the International Justice Mission.
The suspect will be facing complaints for Republic Act (RA) 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012), RA 9775 (Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009), RA 10364 (Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012) and RA 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act).
On Wednesday this week we reported on another cyberporn raid on a house in Cordova, Cebu. In this case a 38-year-old suspect was accused of exploiting her own 13-year-old daughter, her mentally handicapped 17-year-old sister and a two-year-old boy.
In response, the Mayor of Cordova Mary Therese Sitoy-Cho announced a 20,000-peso cash reward for information leading to the arrest of any further perpetrators.
She said: “The reward money will be 20,000 pesos for those who can point cybersex dens in Cordova and it may be bigger depending on the information they can give.”
