Woman from Finland drugged and robbed while visiting Quezon City

A Finnish woman lost more than 15,000 pesos to a group of women who befriended her and then invited her to their home before drugging her.

29-year-old Anne Maria Elisabft reported to Quezon City police that she lost 8,000 pesos and 150 euros (about 7,800 pesos) that she had in her wallet after she accepted an invitation from three women to have lunch in their home in Quezon City.

Ms Elsabft reported the crime to police on Sunday, the lunch and robbery took place the day before.

An investigation into the crime showed that the Finnish woman was walking around Intromurous, Manila, at 4pm on Friday when the suspects approached her. They invited her to dinner but she declined.

However, she told the women her hotel was in Makati City. Then, on Saturday, the suspects came to the hotel and invited her to lunch at their home in Quezon City, and this time she accepted the invitation.

After having lunch, the victim and the suspects starting drinking beer. The alleged victim told police that she became dizzy and fell unconscious after drinking just two glasses.

When she woke a few hours later she hailed a cab that took her back to he her hotel. Upon her arrival she realized that her money and wallet were missing.

Police say the victim could not remember where the house was located – she had used an app that showed she was taken to a place called Santo Domingo.

Ms Elsabft told police she had no plans of filing a formal complaint against the suspects, saying she wanted the incident placed on record.
