The ‘hacktivist’ group Anonymous has released a video urging people to “prepare” for World War Three as “strategic pieces are put into place” for a showdown on the Korean peninsular.

“All the signs of a looming war on the Korean peninsula are surfacing,” the group says in the six-minute clip, posted on YouTube this week.

The hackers make several claims about military movements in the region as they deliver their prophecy. “Watching as each country moves strategic pieces into place.

“But unlike past world wars, although there will be ground troops, the battle is likely to be fierce, brutal and quick.

“It will also be globally devastating, both on environmental and economical levels.”

The group also claims that America’s test of a Minuteman 3 intercontinental ballistic missile last week and a recent Japanese government warning to its citizens — telling them prepare for a possible nuclear attack — are further proof that a conflict between the US and North Korea is looming.

It also points out that China has urged citizens in North Korea to return home.

“This is a real war with real global consequences,” the group says. “With three superpowers drawn into the mix, other nations will be coerced into choosing sides, so what do the chess pieces look like so far?”

Anonymous claims the US and South Korea have been working together to keep the peace in the region, along with China and the Philippines, but their pleas have fallen “on deaf ears”.

It also notes that more than 1,000 US troops, along with a large fleet of military aircraft, are currently deployed in Australia.

Another indication that war is imminent, the group says, is the recent telephone conversation between President Trump and President Duterte.

The pair spoke to discuss the Korean issue and other regional security threats. It was subsequently announced that relations between the two countries were “heading in a very positive direction”.

The group said: “When President Trump starts reaching out to those like President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines to assure they are on the same page, one must start to wonder.

“However, even Duterte has advised the US to back away from Kim Jong Un.”

The group then concluded the video with its trademark motto. “Prepare for what comes next,” they said. “We are Anonymous. We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget.”
