A village councilman has turned himself in after he shot and killed a motorcyclist after a long disputed open pipe “bora-bora” muffler dispute.

The incident happened at 2am, bringing to an end a long dispute that involved village residents who had complained multiple times about the loud piped rider.

Even after the complaints were noted, that 31-year-old Ronelo Galayogo kept running his motorbike during the early hours of the night and morning, disrupting residents and creating what would ultimately cost Galayogo his life.

The suspect in the shooting is Barangay Councilman Dante Manule of Purok Magsaysay, Barangay Namnama.

Manule surrendered to authorities after the shooting.

A crime scene investigation showed that Manuel had been awakened by the noise of Gayahogo’s motorcycle when he took his .22 calibre pistol and fired at the rider. He then fell and crashed after being hit by the bullet in the back.
