The US Navy said the men had reported their skiff had capsized from a large wave a few hours after they departed on April 4.

The crew spent the night swimming until they arrived on Fandadik Island, an island that has never been inhabited. The is four nautical miles from Pulap.

The US Navy said: “A small boat from Pulap recovered the men from the island with no reported injuries. VP-5 is in the midst of a routine deployment to the US 7th Fleet area of operations.”
