Two dead and 29 hurt after two buses crash in Santiago, Ilocos Sur

Two people are dead and 29 injured after two buses collided with one another in Santiago, Ilocos Sur on Friday night.

The two dead both expired after being treated at Candon City Hospital and St. Martin de Porres Hospital respectively. Both fatalities were passengers on Partas Bus Lines (AWC-971).

Police say reports on the scene noted that one of Partas bus tires burst, causing the driver to lose control of the passenger liner at 8.30pm on Friday.

The bus hit a tree on the opposite side of the road, causing the Redval bus (AWC-969) to strike it.

Numerous people were taken to local hospitals including a teacher and 17 of her students.
